Ellen Bytyqi

Director & Screenwriter Biography

Ellen's journey in filmmaking began with her first directed short, 69 and Dead, which found recognition at the Galway Film Fleadh in 2015. Her recent short Poulaphouca, was warmly received at Irish and international festivals.

A graduate of The National Film School at IADT, Ellen holds a BA honours in Film and TV Production, specialising in Directing and Screenwriting.

Building on this success, she pursued further education, achieving a Master's honours degree in Screenwriting for Film and TV from the same institution.

Currently, Ellen is writing a feature film, Clout Chasers, a drama that delves into the complexities of modern life, revolving around

a social media influencer’s harrowing quest to find her abducted child, with unexpected help from one of her followers.

Ellen’s passion lies in offering audiences a fresh perspective on life’s rich tapestry, seeking to illuminate the beauty in the mundane and the extraordinary. As a member of WIFT. and The Writer’s Guild of Ireland, Ellen continues to learn and grow within the vibrant film community.
